Q&A Body-Mindedness - What is it about & FAQ

What this evening is about

It is a genuine invitation to explore Body-Mindedness before deciding whether the full seminar is right for you. In 90 minutes, you will experience a short embodied practice, hear directly from people who have been through the seminar, and have real, unscripted time to ask Michael and Bettina anything.

The previous Q&A session generated unexpected depth — alumni described light bulb moments that they had not anticipated, and the conversation extended well beyond logistics into the territory of what the practice actually opens up. We have extended this session to 90 minutes to give that space room to breathe.

What to expect

A TASTE OF PRACTICE

A brief, accessible experience of Body-Mindedness — enough to give you a felt sense of what the seminar does, not just a description of it.

ALUMNI VOICES

Hear directly from participants of the 2025 Alpha cohort — what shifted, what surprised them, what they wish they had known before starting.

LIVE Q&A

Real questions, real answers. No question is too basic or too advanced. Michael and Bettina will address whatever is on your mind.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Everything you need to make an informed decision: format, timing, investment, group size, and what happens after the seminar.

"It was remarkable — I had expected information, and instead I experienced something shifting inside me that I couldn't quite name afterwards."

Frequently asked questions

Is this offered for other time zones?

Currently, as a beta-group we operate in European CEST/CET time zone. We are flexible in offering this same series in other time zones, when there are enough participants making a request – Be in touch to let us know that you are interested. We also encourage groups and organisations to reach out to us. Please send an email to bettina [dot] geikenatifis-freiburg [dot] de (bettina[dot]geiken[at]ifis-freiburg[dot]de)

Who is Body-Mindedness for?

Anyone who senses they are operating below their potential — not from lack of effort or knowledge, but because their attention, nervous system, and habits haven't caught up with their intentions. Leaders, educators, practitioners, and curious individuals are all welcome. No prior background in embodied or somatic work is needed.

Is this the same as mindfulness?

There is overlap, but the approach is different. Mindfulness typically cultivates awareness. Body-Mindedness adds a layer of practical agency — using that awareness to make better choices, build coherence, and release stuck patterns of response. It is less about observation and more about navigation. If you already have a mindfulness practice, Body-Mindedness will complement rather than replace it.

Do I need any prior experience with embodied or somatic practices?

No. The seminar is designed from the ground up to be accessible to complete beginners. If you have experience with yoga, meditation, or somatic work, that is welcome — but it is absolutely not a requirement.

Are the sessions recorded? No and Yes…

Body-Mindedness works relationally. The quality of presence — yours and the group's — is not incidental to the practice: it is the practice. Recordings cannot replicate the live, co-created field of a small group. Participants are expected to attend all three live sessions of the full seminar. However, because of the experiential nature of this process, recordings are available to support the participants practicing in-between sessions.

What does 10% scholarship fund mean?

You are joining as an early cohort — the Beta test — which means your participation helps shape and refine the format for future cohorts. The current price reflects that contribution. And 10% of every participation fee goes directly to a scholarship fund, enabling someone who could not otherwise afford it to join a future cohort at a reduced cost or free.

Is this available in German?

The current seminar runs in English. A German version is in development. If you are interested in that format, please let us know at bettina [dot] geikenatifis-freiburg [dot] de (bettina[dot]geiken[at]ifis-freiburg[dot]de)

What happens after the 3-part seminar?

Participants join the growing Body-Mindedness alumni community. Further offers through the IFIS Academy — including deeper transformation intensives, leadership maturity assessments, and organisational applications of the practice — become accessible. Body-Mindedness is designed as a beginning, not an end in itself.
