Meshwork Partner - Center for Human Emergence

As important collaboration partners, CHE and IFIS explore and design freshest models for human coexistence and collaboration. They conceive coexistence as a process that can be enriched and shaped by evolutionary impulses. In doing so, we focus on the creation, development and implementation of integral models of social architecture that foster the transition from the modern and postmodern era to the integral age.

With our actions, we promote  the evolution of consciousness. Supporting the development of individuals and collectives taking into account the respective conditions of life and the particular context of diverse cultures, and what next steps are needed for supporting a healthy expression of their being and doing. in the global context of one of the major transformation process, which humanity has passed through on its evolutionary journey so far, we address the following issues:

  • Support the transition
  • Navigate easily and efficiently complexity and diversity
  • Empower the individual as a co-designer of the future
  • Promote social innovation in organizations
  • Develop evolutionary co-leadership

Natural Design and MeshWorking enable natural design processes that go beyond personal preferences. They bundle available human and technical resources to meet challenges and answer the most pressing questions of our time. They contribute decisively to finding life-affirming and sustainable solutions. Meshworks can be referred to as the successor generation of the network.

In a MeshWork, existing resources  are bundled, linked and synergetised in a new and unique way. Functions, people and ideas are brought into a new, natural flow in the service of a common higher goal. Special attention is given to the special qualities of all stakeholders involved. These forces create a dynamic “network” that is capable of adapting quickly to the world and its requirements. Meshworks are open systems, build on Win-win-win strategies, choose the long-term perspective, capture the whole while dealing with the individual parts, and emphasize natural solutions.

The Idea behind Meshwork

Meshwork describes a process in which many very different people work together to jointly develop a new direction for the future. Because we humans are so different, this usually leads to a fair number of conflicts. The result: a small compromise.

Meshwork aims for more, much more. Not the small compromise that all too often arises in conventional forms of cooperation. Instead, it is about harnessing collective creativity. Unconventional ideas are developed, to which everyone can contribute. Something new emerges with ease and enthusiasm.

What makes this programme special

As part of the Social Architect training programme, this is a unique opportunity. It offers the chance to experience Meshwork in a live process after having covered all the theory. Together with stakeholders invited by the cooperation partner, a vision for the future is developed over two days and the first steps towards its implementation are mapped out. All Social Architects in training are closely involved in the planning and design of such a process.
Check out the documentation of a Meshwork process in Hamburg in 2025 on the topic of "Rethinking Marketing"

Areas of application to date as part of the training

We demonstrate its effectiveness time and again in different contexts. Areas of application to date are:

  • Politics – Mindfulness in the political sphere
  • Education – Equal opportunities as a prerequisite for (digital) participation in education – a neighbourhood project
  • Families: Strengthening families and making everyday life easier – Meshwork at Kiwifalter, an organisation dedicated to helping people balance family and work life.
  • Evolutionary marketing – Rethinking marketing

The Social Architect Curriculum

Over more than a decade of intensive work, we have identified models, tools and skills that truly support people and organisations in times of complexity, diversity and global interconnectedness. We have put all of this to the test in practice – and know that it works.

What the Social Architect training programme enables you to do

The Social Architect training programme equips the participants with integral and holistic models for the new era – combined with the skills you need to consciously shape change: from the ego-system to the eco-system – from isolated thinking to connectedness, from control to cooperation, from old patterns to new possibilities.

In particular, it supports to develop the following skills:
  • Recognising your own role in this evolutionary process and giving your actions a clear, authentic signature.
  • Operating within an innovative framework that offers security and creative agency in uncertain times.
  • Shaping the future rather than merely reacting to external changes.
  • Shifting more easily from linear to integral thinking in order to understand complex interrelationships and act effectively.

CHE as cooperation partner in several Erasmus+ Adult education projects

The Center for Human Emergence has been involved in numerous Erasmus+ Adult education cooperation projects co-led by IFIS and/or its partner organizations, jointly elaborating relevant open source materials for adult education and adult development:

LIFT 3.0 Leadership-for-Transition - Politics (2019–2022): IFIS has coordinated the LiFT project family since 2013 (Erasmus+), most recently LiFT 3.0 –  piloting the Collaboratory co-creation method and SenseMaker® narrative-Leadership-for-Transition sensing to strengthen dialogue and leadership soft skills among policymakers, civil servants and citizens across Europe — producing toolkits, a methods wiki and training curricula for cross-
disciplinary, participatory policy innovation and network consolidation.

BLAST (EU Erasmus+, 2019–2022) was a 10-organisation, 7-country partnership developing blended, transformative learning outputs for the socio-ecological transition. The work was carried out by Claudine Villemot-Kienzle (Center for Human Emergence) and IFIS member, producing a competency framework for trainers and community catalysts, a Communities-of-Practice guide, and a Justice-Equity-Diversity-Inclusion methodology — transferable toolkits for cross-sector adult education and capacity-building.

FITT / Cohere+: Field Intelligence & Technology for Transformation (Erasmus+, 2022–2025, IFIS co-led) mapped a cross-disciplinary ecosystem of change
agents, linking science, technology and socio-political innovation across a transnational community. It produced participatory learning journeys, digital coherence-building tools, and transferable methodologies for network consolidation and impact evaluation, evidencing IFIS's and CHE's track record in cross-sector network-building, participatory methodology design and policy-relevant toolkit development. In particular CHE and IFIS have co-authored the "Guide for Communities of Coherence" and a chapter in the IDG Publication: Deepcasting the IDGs: Exploring the cross-dimensional quality of coherence. From "We" to "Systems Change" (Vol. 2). De Gruyter.

After a 15-year experience as an education consultant, trainer and coach at the BMW Headquarters, I decided to become self-employed in 1998 as a social architect and integral project manager in economic, social and artistic fields. In the search for models to address the complexity adequately, I began to study the integral philosophy of Ken Wilber as well as Spiral Dynamics. In 2006, I was appointed by Don Beck authorized lecturer for SDi and co-founded the Center for Human Emergence for German-speaking countries. The further study of Conscious Evolution by Barbara M.Hubbard inspired me deeply. My contribution is to expand the perspective of my fellow human beings and organizations for breakthrough social innovations and to help them to integrate this powerful and regenerative potential into their personal and professional life.

I am moved and inspired by the idea that we are now on the threshold of a new world order. In this historical context, I see the focus of my work on preparing and helping to shape the path for the global paradigm shift through the choice of conscious evolution as a life-affirming perspective.
