The Institute for Integral Studies (IFIS) is an independent research institute, yet linked to numerous universities in Germany and other European and non-European countries through its members and advisory board members.
IFIS aims to promote, cross-link and institutionalize holistic, transdisciplinary research based on an integral epistemology in Germany, Europe and beyond.

Recent activities and developments:
"Doing Politics Differently - Inspirations from integral/metamodern politics" - this was the title of my keynote to the General Assembly of the pan-European VOLT party held in Frankfurt on Nov 23, 2025.
On the 31/8/2025 our Cohere+ Project officially "closes" the doors, that the Erasmus+ Programme of the EU opened for our partnership 3 years ago. A great thank you to the EU for supporting this project!!

Our EU-funded Strategic Partnership Leadership for Transition Politics has now been completed. We are proud and happy to present our "Intellectual Outputs" online.
Der von Mehr Demokratie und dem Pocket Project organisierte Forschungsprozess mit rund 350 Bürgerinnen und Bürgern fand als Online-Veranstaltung vom 28. April bis zum 1. Mai 2022 statt. Er wurde wissenschaftlich begleitet vom Cynefin Centre, dem Institut für integrale Studien (IFIS) und dem Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies e.V.
