Dear all,
it has been a long summer break this year - with numerous experiences that call for integral perspectives ever more urgently. The good news: We are back - with a basket of new events, workshops and seminars.
Here comes the very warm invitation to our upocoming Online Colloquia:
- Beyond Ego-Myopia, with Eric Kaufmann, on October 21
- SPECIAL Anniversary Colloquium "The Future of Integral Studies", with a panel of speakers, on November 10
More details about these events:
Online Colloquium N°90: Beyond Ego-Myopia™: How Leaders See, and Why They Can't See That
We do not see the world as it is. We see it as we need it to be – organized, often invisibly, around three drivers: the need to be right, the need to be liked, and the need to have might. Eric Kaufmann calls this ego-myopia. The trouble isn't that we have it; it's that it operates in the one place we can't look from: inside our own perception. You can't read the label from inside the jar.
This colloquium takes that problem seriously rather than solving it reductively. Some of the questions we will look into: How does a self, or a system, develop the capacity to see its own organizing distortions while still inside them? What actually moves a person – or a team, or a polity – from inside the jar to reading the label?
Presenter:

Eric Kaufmann is a Fellow and Thought Leader at Harvard’s Institute of Coaching, and a speaker for TEDx. He draws insight and expertise from two decades of coaching leaders, management roles at Fortune 100 firms, degrees in business and psychology, thirty years of Zen practice, living in Israel and South Africa, teaching as a Master Scuba Diving instructor, working as a certified hypnotherapist, and meditating in a year-long retreat in an isolated cabin he built in the mountains of New Mexico.

IFIS is approaching another milestone of our Institute's work: the 10th anniversary of our Online Colloquium which was hosted for the first time in November 2016!
For almost a decade, our Online Colloquium has now served as a global laboratory for integral thought, hosting almost 90 sessions that have bridged the gap between meta-theory and social action.
We would like to celebrate this special occasion with a special landmark event, a hybrid summit experience, consisting of:
- a public Anniversary Colloquium on November 10, 2026
- an internal Anniversary Colloquium on November 11, 2026 (for members only)
a retreat for members on Nov 12-15, 2026
....each of them focusing on
"The Future of Integral Studies"
We are very happy to invite you to these events - for it is you, the integral community of research an practice - that has allowed us to develop and sustain this format for the last ten years!
Presenters in our public Anniversary Colloquium:

So far, we have confirmed contributions from out Advisory board members Prof. Dr. Jonathan Reams, Prof. Dr. Mark Edwards, as well as from Prof. Dr. Hilary Bradbury and Anne Caspari.
